Built on the remains of ancient Roman settlements, for centuries the castle was the home of the lords of the Friulian nobility.
From the 16th century, illustrious families took turns in his property: first the Dorimbergo, then the Rassauer and then, for more than 300 years, the powerful Della Torre Valsassina family, descendants of Charlemagne.
Count Luigi Torriani hosted Giacomo Casanova in 1773, who -fleeing from Venice to avoid a prison sentence- found refuge and tranquility to write and appreciate the wines, which he defined excellent in his Memoirs. The romantic literary walk with signs where you can read his phrases about love, women, friendship and life, is at your disposal in the historic park. In addition to Casanova, many other illustrious personalities, rulers and generals, poets and musicians have stayed in Spessa, such as Lorenzo Da Ponte, the famous librettist of Mozart, and Emanuele Filiberto D'Aosta. The atmosphere that still surrounds the manor today recalls those times: the arts, prestige, the sweet idleness of life in the countryside.

物件の歴史の詳細を教えて頂けませんか？Villa Luppis: this is the name of the old monastery which was built here, by the Camaldolite monks at the beginning of the 11th century, on the confluence between the river Livenza and Meduna. Many events went by, i.e. a rebuilding in 1500 after the damages suffered during the war between the Republic of Venice and the house of Hapsburgs, and San Martino was then secularized by Napoleon at the beginning of 1800 and acquiredby the Chiozza – Luppis family. Turned into a superb country house, it came an elegant estate and was used by the family ancestors as a place where to carry out the public relations for their industrial and diplomatic activities.
Today, the Villa still recalls past times’ splendor and atmosphere. With an accurate intervention aiming at maintaining as far as possible everything unaltered, we have turned it into a 39-bedroom 4 star hotel (6 suite) with period furnishing and we have provided it with every comfort, an excellent restaurant and a relaxing piano-bar. To facilitate and enrich the stay of our guests, we have also arranged important additional services: “Guide to the territory, Shopping-card, Green fee, Ski Pass, Shuttle Bus to/from Venice”. In Villa Luppis not only do our guest find surroundings of exceptional charm, but also and above all a kind of hospitality typical of first-class hotels with something more: our friendly, not just formal approach.

物件の歴史の詳細を教えて頂けませんか？Villa Dragoni, and in particular the west tower, was built around end of 1500 and early 1600. It is yet not clear who frescoed the loggia at the first floor with hunting images, but the painting technique and themes can be dated end of 1500.
Bertolini family modified the building during the XVII century in order to have frescoes from talented painters from Friuli such as Chiarottini, Canal and the school of Morelli between 1783 and 1803.
Marina Danieli bought the estate in 1995 and 3 years later started the renovation.
All the structural changes had been made with full respect of the original building and structures. The
restoration work on the frescos took 3 years, because during the Second World War the Villa was first used by the German army and then by the Americans;
the latter not only covered all the frescos with dye, but also wrote on some walls with red paint and used them to play darts.
