歴史的なホテル

1887年、ウィリアム・コーネリアス・ヴァン・ホーンはカナディアン・ロッキーに印象的なホテルを建設しようと考えました。1926年の火災で木造の土台が焼失するまで、ホテルは何度も改修を繰り返しました。数年後、ホテルはより大きな城に建て替えられ、より頑丈な構造になりました。世界恐慌の際には3年間閉鎖され、その後再開されましたが、立地条件と経済危機のために旅行者の回復に苦戦しました。その後、1970年代に入り、バンフへの旅行者が増え、ホテルは再び輝きを取り戻しました。現在では、「ロッキーの城」とも呼ばれる名門ホテルです。
