古城ホテル

城とその周辺の土地の歴史は18世紀にさかのぼる。19世紀初頭にジョージ・マレーが購入し、城をマンスフィールドと改名するまでに何度も所有者が変わった。その後、城は何度も売却され、20世紀初頭にファウラー家が購入し、大規模な改修工事を行ったが、激動の歴史と所有者の変更は終わらなかった。第二次世界大戦中は軍隊が使用し、戦後はホテルとなり、その後も所有者が変わりました。

幽霊の出るホテル

マンスフィールド城は18世紀に建てられ、その後、常に売却され、所有者が変わるという激動の歴史を歩んできた。1890年に購入したファウラー家は、第二次世界大戦の少し前までこの城を所有していた。ファウラー氏は1930年に亡くなり、ファウラー夫人は1938年に亡くなりましたが、最期までこの城に住み続けました。ファウラー夫人の亡霊は、今でも城の広間や部屋にとどまっていると言われており、死後もこの城とその状態を気にかけていたことがうかがえます。
